Youth Day 2011: "If You Love Me, keep my Commandments "

Dan Cooper arranged a highly successful and entertaining Faith Youth Day at
The John Fisher School, Purely on 30th May 2011. Around 50 youngsters gathered in wonderful
sunny weather.

Fr Stephen Dingley gave a very inspiring powerpoint presentation entitled "If you love me, keep my commandments!" He began by explaining the original 10 commandments and then went on to open them up into a broader context before demonstrating the chief commandments of Jesus Christ-Lord of the Cosmos and the Master Key to the meaning of the Universe.

Fr James Clark then continued the theme in his homily during mass, explaining that we can't separate Christ from The Church and therefore if we truly love Christ then we need to faithful to His Church's teachings, without choosing to ignore some less popular teachings.

The day included plenty of games, confession and plenty of refreshments.

Thanks again to Dan and all his helpers, and to those who brought youngsters, for making it such a great gathering.

Next step for many of them will be the Faith Summer Break being held this year in Birmingham
